Fancy some good summer rea — er, listening? BBC Audiobooks America is hoping you will, and that you’ll check out their new Facebook Group for chatting about some of their best titles.
This month it’s Peter Benchley’s Jaws, a novel I read back in middle school and remember more for its lewd scenes than the vicious shark that seems to freak people out to this day. The kick-off discussion is “do you prefer the book or the movie?” which so far seems to be going for Spielberg.
I’m interested to see where this thing goes. It already has a bit of a following (around 50 members last I checked) and a conversation you should join, full force. With so many different existing communities, I’m curious to see how well the BBC can foster one, but with a good built-in audience, and some great titles, things should start to happen.
Give it a look, and of course, you can’t miss the handy link to buy the respective audiobook from the BBC!
